Brand Tagline – Utilitarian Packs For The Independent Traveler.

Step inside the California workshop dedicated to hand-making utilitarian products for the independent traveler. Founder, Douglas Davidson, speaks to his passion, process and the journey of The Brown Buffalo becoming one of the the best travel-goods providers in the market.

Breath-work is an integral part of our process, it allows us to focus; it paves the road to positivity in the workshop and intentional design for each new product. After each prototype, we recap the key learnings and identify areas for potential improvement. We reflect on our experiences in factories across Asia, where, over the past 25 years, we’ve had the privilege of learning from some of the best pattern makers and operators in the world. Our bags are built to endure. Every material, every design choice—it all tells a story. Of durability. Of purpose.

We strive to channel that deep well of knowledge into creating more intentional, purpose driven designs for our bags. We take great pride in sharing these insights with students who travel from all over the world to learn the craft of bag making.
